Bangalore which is sometimes referred to as ‘Bengaluru’ is the capital of Karnataka. It is located at an elevation of about nine hundred meters above the sea level. The city is nicknamed as the “Silicon Valley of India” due to the presence of numerous educational and research institutions such as Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). Apart from that it is home to plenty of sightseeing destinations. Some of the major landmarks of Bangalore are as follows

  1. Attara Kacheri (High Court): –

Attara Kacheri is located within the premises of Cubbon Park and opposite to the Vidhan Soudha property. It is a major landmark which is located in the city of Bangalore. The building which was constructed in the year 1860 is beautifully adorned in red painting. It comprises of two main floors which belongs to the Karnataka State High Court and several other lower courts.

  1. Vidhana Soudha: –

Vidhana Soudha is a massive structure which is located on the north western part of the Cubbon Park. The building was constructed in Neo-Dravidian styles of architecture by convicts.

  1. Bangalore Palace: –

Bangalore Palace which is located in the heart of the city was built in the year 1890. The property is beautifully embellished with granite turrets in Tudor styles of architecture.

  1. The Bull Temple (Nandi Temple): –

It is one of the significant landmarks which were constructed during the sixteenth century. It houses an impressive statue of Nandi, the bull who is regarded as the vahana of Lord Shiva. This shrine stands at a height of about sixteen feet.

Lal Bagh flower show in Bangalore: An entertainment for all

The Lal Bagh flower show is a flower show which is held on momentous occasions like Independence Day and Republic Day. It is organized by the Department of Horticulture and Mysore Horticulture Society. About two hundred wide varieties of flowers are displayed during this event. It is estimated that about five lakh visitors flock to this spot to witness the event.

Some of the major highlights of this show include:

· Cymbidium flowers: –

Tourists will come across two fifty cymbidium flowers which are indigenous in parts of Sikkim hill stations like Darjeeling.

· Cold climate flowers: –

Impatiens, Begonia and Fuchsia are some of the cold climate flowers which are exhibited during the event.

· Butterfly replicas: –

These are artificial flowers made out of roses, orchids, chrysanthemum and carnation.

A pleasant and favorable climatic condition of Bangalore adds to the grandeur of the event in several ways. It is undoubtedly an ideal family destination for all. It is estimated that about three million stems of roses are produced annually. One can choose from an array of flowers and send flowers to Bangalore for loved ones.
